My first thought, before even hearing this, was that "it's not Gorgoroth without Gaahl"......and I was right. Whatever this is, it isn't Gorgoroth. Yes, Infernus is still writing songs but if you listen to "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam" and then this...... no contest! This is crap.

Jähzorn September 30, 2009 at 2:17 AM

well, was gorgoroth about gay-gaahl?
no ! it wasnt even defined by
Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam.

Pentagram is more important i.e.

I guess I like pest creepy voice.
Its not that satanic spiritual and they aren't the best songs ever.
its ok. try some nu.

Many Thanx!
Gooder than what I 'spected.
Okay vox; good songs;some real variety.
Too early to be sure, but probably better than the last couple.
'Destroyer' and 'Incipit' are the albums by which I judge this band.
(Prepare to be judged! How do you plead? I KNEW you'd say that.)

Not hearing the greatest so far, but ill say, i was more exctided for god seed. Anyways the lineup is interesting, and i do like pest quite a bit, but in my oppinion, gaahl had become gorgoroth.

koko.szatan October 1, 2009 at 11:08 AM

gorgoroth without gaahl and king is not gorgoroth anymore. if 'quantos..' were not sign by gorgoroth, in many people opinion, this would be average or even mediocre.

many less known black metal bands have recorded better albums this year than this.

Pyro Stick October 1, 2009 at 1:06 PM

What the hell is everyone on about!?!? Gorgoroth IS Gorgoroth without Gaahl.

Luciferian Darkness Lux Occulta October 1, 2009 at 4:11 PM

The funny thing is that their 3 first albums, their real classics were recorded without your homossexual idol.
Kids...

Luciferian Darkness Lux Occulta October 1, 2009 at 4:15 PM

So can you noobs tell me how there's no Gorgoroth without your so tr00 cocksmoker?

Unknown October 1, 2009 at 6:29 PM

well, the album is perfect, pure and real Gorgoroth. The line up is more powerfull than others. If people like Gaahl and King, there is Gay Seed, sorry, God Seed.

Admin October 1, 2009 at 6:58 PM

Why criticize Ghaal's sexuality when you mean to criticize his music? It's beyond futile to point this out to people like you Jahzorn and Luciferean, because you're so fucking stupid and backward, but I'll throw caution to the wind in an attempt to enlighten you: You're committing a logical fallacy called an Ad Hominem. Look it up. I like the new Gorgoroth more because the music is better or the singer sounds grimmer or something to do with the music rather than something to do with identity politics. You dumb fucks.

Luciferian Darkness Lux Occulta October 1, 2009 at 7:10 PM

And I like the older because those albums were what black metal is supposed to be.And a good gay is a dead gay, period.I can criticize his music too,and it's bad and soulless.Gorgoroth died after "Under the sign of hell".

Luciferian Darkness Lux Occulta October 1, 2009 at 7:16 PM

Kids said: ''There's no Gorgoroth without our macho.''

And I said: ''Funny that he wasn't the singer on their first 3 and classic albums."

Luciferian Darkness Lux Occulta October 1, 2009 at 7:17 PM

So tell me where is the Ad Hominem here?LOL.

Luciferian Darkness Lux Occulta October 1, 2009 at 7:26 PM

I didn't come here to criticize your idol, but just to criticize the ridiculous absurd of this "there's no Gorgoroth without the guy that I can't call gay because the fanboys will cry".3 of the most classic and grim BM albums of all time simply doesn't exist? So,who's the real backward here?

Luciferian Darkness Lux Occulta October 1, 2009 at 7:30 PM

You pretentious fuck.

Khaos[] October 1, 2009 at 7:33 PM

for fuck's sake LDLO, don't spam the blog like that, think for a second before you post and put everything into one comment.

Luciferian Darkness Lux Occulta October 1, 2009 at 7:40 PM

Sorry,It's a problem with my internet. All big posts go error. So I divided it.But relax,I don't have anything else to say.I already showed my point of view.

Well since i own every gorgoroth album i suppose i will speak my oppionion as well since im less close minded then a lot of black metal fans. The early albums with pest and hat were great, pest is one of the greatest bm vocalists of all time. But the work gaahl did in the band was great as well, some of it underrated imo. He put his heart and soul into his lyrics and wrote some fucking good songs. After actually listening to this new album last night, i liked it, a lot. With or without gaahl, who has abandoned god seed from what ive heard. It didnt completely sound like gorgoroth to my ears, but the lineup is quite different, but its something i could get used to. Lets not start a war over this.

catskin_gloves October 2, 2009 at 3:47 AM

Sounds like some killer and classic style Gorgoroth to me so far... Although I dig all of their LPs, I've always hated Gaahl's whiny and nasal vocals!! Pest's vox cut like a razor... BTW, Gaahl starting his own Gorgoroth is like Hellhammer starting his own Mayhem after the guitarist died... Oh wait, there DOES exist a false Mayhem....

Darasuum October 2, 2009 at 9:26 AM

i didn't like this album. and Gaahl is THAT much more pure evil because of the fact that he is gay. how much more satanist can you get?!

bilbobloggins October 10, 2009 at 3:20 PM

OK, anyone with ears can tell that the drumming on the first song is nearly retarded. That first song is a turd. It definitely gets better, but it can't compare to the intensity of Ad Majorem, especially the first 3 songs of that album. Ghaal does some weird chant-like vocals at times, but overal that last line-up is better than this. Who gives a shit if he's gay, I hope he beats the shit out of Luciferian Darkness and rapes him.

sotar79 October 11, 2009 at 6:16 AM

sad to admit it but its a dissapointment, maybe i had big hopes with the new lineup but it lacks the rawness of the previous releases,

Nordergute December 1, 2009 at 11:50 AM

Definitely a disappointment. The drumming is not up to standards, the guitars are way too untight for my taste at times, and the songwriting is so-so. King writes better songs IMHO, even though he might not be such a big and evil badboy satanist as Infernus - who, by the way, is really just an old time christian heretic, being the gnostic that he is. Pest delivers some good vocals though, but I like Gaahl as well. Pest is more like a razor, where Gaahl is a chainsaw. That is to say IMHO the voice of Pest cuts, but Gaahl has more power. And his sexual preferences - let's just leave the man be, OK? What difference does it make to you if he fucks watermelons or shoes or boys or girls? Honestly?

Keeper Of Solitude January 27, 2010 at 5:09 AM

For all of you who think that this is anywhere near Gorgoroth's older material, listen up: This isn't anywhere near the standard of their older albums.

Unknown February 8, 2010 at 10:58 PM

It's good to have Infernus back in the helm, but Gaahl's vocals were so much more wicked.
