The Horn - Dawning of An Ancient Sun / The Silent Land

First official release from this Australian one-man band. The Horn plays a very unique kind of black metal; the music focuses on Egyptian mythology and he really hit the atmosphere spot-on, totally otherworldly and dark. The album seamlessly shifts from really fast songs to atmospheric and slower ones; also, ambient songs are quite prominent, especially on the second disc, and they do an excellent job of setting the dark mood. Even though I really enjoyed this release I do think it’s quite an acquired taste, since the production will probably put off a lot of people not to mention the overly obvious drum machine (that sounds totally awesome in my opinion). Anyway, give it a shot, a highly recommended release!

This is definitely an acquired taste, but pushes the boundaries of black metal. Well worth the listen.

Here are a few more that The Horn posted for free download on his own Myspace blogs:

Tracks 2-6 on disc one and tracks 2-3 on disc two are corrupted on both versions.

I just downloaded and all songs work fine; be more specific with the problem because out of the 140+ people who downloaded this only you have a problem...
